Hello. My name is Brian Hartwell, a graphic designer from Detroit, Michigan. VisionFlux is my personal site for freelance projects, portfolio showcase, and an outlet for creative expression and inspiration.

I specialize in interface design, web development, usability and accessibility. I also have a huge passion for print and motion design.

I'm a bit of a perfectionist and a huge design geek. I often find myself critiquing various signage, posters, etc. everywhere I go - taking snapshots of typefaces and uploading them through the WhatTheFont app on my iPhone; and, all of my websites are hand-coded to the W3C standards. I find inspiration in old architecture, nature, and vintage books.

When I'm not working I enjoy screen printing, photography, filmmaking, going to the theater (stage and cinema), snowboarding, attending indie art fairs/shows, and obsessing over beautiful design and letterpress prints. Occasionally, I find myself upgrading and building computers from scratch.
